To be fair mate, it does say no discussions yet between Everton and the player’s camp. It does say there have been discussions between Everton and Frankfurt.

They will be the England u21 starting midfielders this season. Would be nice to have those two and Garner competing in the middle.

Brentford have made an enquiry for Calvert Lewin. Everton rebuffed Saudi interest for Doucoure and Gueye this window.

I'd have been overjoyed if we'd have moved on Doucoure & Gana. Especially for upfront cash from Saudi, could have brought in a couple of replacements.

If Saudi enquired about Doucoure or Gueye or both then we should have done it.

Simply put the Saudis overpay and in our financial situation anything over what a players actually worth - especially at the ages they are which normally ensures no sell on ability the we have to take advantage of that.

If you got 8-10m for each then that would pretty much be entirely up front, get rid of Beto to Atalanta at 15m and you'd have 30-35m of which about 23m would be up front allowing a huge variety in what you could do.

Could bring in Bove, Omeragic, Abraham loan in Richy and grab Gnoto (if we really really do want him).

Mental if we did indeed have interest in them....

its not going to be that kind of money, thats just his release clause. Its normal for Brazilian young players to have huge release clauses, they normally dont get sold for them. Or it ends up being in add ons and sell on fees. Based on the fact we have bid £25m for Gnonto, I would imagine the deal would be for that kind of money or less and then any other fees would relate to sell on, appearances, goals, etc.
