So after seeing that "HMV deal" thread a few days ago, decided to take them up on their offer and got the 2010/11 season review for a 5er. It wasn't the greatest watch - to be honest, we never really hit that excellent vein of form that we usually do, it was very stop start with some horrific results - losing to Brentford (Carling) and Reading (FA) in ther cups, drawing with Wolves, gettng beat by Newcastle at home. We did put in some great wins, Chelsea away in the cup and Man City home and away. The Blackpool game was brilliant as well. I think what's quite remarkable is that we finished a place higher - 7th - than we did the season before, despite finishing with 7 fewer points. I'm in the processing of buying the 08/09 and 09/10 DVDs and I'm actually really looking forward to revisiting them. There's alot you miss - alot of the bad results I just blanked out, didn't bother to watch highlights or watch interviews.
A few points I did pick up (from 10/11):
Cahill was fantastic and had scored something like 10 goals by Christmas;
Beckford was underrated, improving, a good finisher, and shouldn't have been let go;
Bily did some spectacular things alongside his seemingly incompetent mediocrity - I wish it had worked out with him;
the defence was just as bad now as it was then.
