Everton vs Chelsea: Injury Report via Royal Blue Mersey
Toffees sweat on four for season decider
After a demoralising defeat at home to
West Ham United,
Everton must regroup to save their season for the FA Cup quarter-final tie against Chelsea.
In terms of the squad available for
Chelsea's visit to Goodison Park,
Bryan Oviedo is a major doubt having been hospitalised earlier this week with bronchitis. The Blues have three late fitness tests for
Gareth Barry,
Aaron Lennon and
Tom Cleverley.
Barry and Cleverley are both described as ill while Lennon suffered a hamstring injury against the Hammers last weekend. Oviedo was reported to have suffered from the same strain that had previously affected Barry, Cleverley, and Arouna Kone.
Defenders Tyias Browning and
Tony Hibbert remain out with long term injuries.
The visitors are also waiting on the fitness of three key players with
Eden Hazard,
Diego Costa and
John Terry all having injury concerns. Terry narrowly missed out on being involved against Paris Saint-Germain with a hamstring injury he picked up against
Newcastle United. Belgian winger Hazard and Spain's Costa are both suffering from hip injuries picked up in their midweek Champions League loss to Paris St. Germain.
Kurt Zouma and
Radamel Falcao are both out for the near future, with no return dates.
