Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

My take on it, if we can't get someone who improves us right now don't bother.

Chermiti back in 4 weeks, Beto has never had injury issues, and both other back before the end of season. Ndiaye can cover in an emergency until then.

Wasting 10-15m on a Maupay type who you're stuck with for years is false economy.
Much rather have a pacy wide player who can create and score the odd goal for now

I think we'll hang fire on a striker now. I would have liked us to sign a full back but maybe between O'Brien doing a job at right back and Moyes making Mykolenko look like a footballer again, perhaps it's no longer an urgent priority.

Reckon we'll sign a winger.

I understand the logic, I just think a deal will be done for Doucoure. He clearly enjoys himself here and Moyes keeps picking him. Maybe he'll agree to reduced terms.
Im not sure hes picking him more than just using him out of necessity. His lineup, outside of OBrien at RB, has mostly been the same as Dyche except what injuries have forced. I think once McNeil and Alcaraz are available we will really see what he thinks of Doucoure.

I hope its that hes pants.

Not that bothered myself, just rather not bring in any slow players, but the way Dyche played made us look way way slower as a side than we actually are.

Setting up so deep negated the genuine pace we have with Branthwaite, it also highlighted we have no super fast players as sitting that deep you need them to get up supporting.

Not helped by he favoured McNeil, Young, Harrison and Mangala all four of whom are genuinely slow players and Lindstrom, O'Brien Garner all of who have solid to good pace were not playing.

It is hard to know because our squad is so thin. I truly believe we need to move away from Doucoure but I get why managers love him. Off the ball he's a monster, he's constantly moving, he's strong, he's all over the opposition hassling and harassing them. However, on the ball he's atrocious, can't even make a five yard pass (albeit he does pop up with some important goals, although increasingly few). I hope you're right, and Alcaraz appears to play in Doucoure's position so there is evidence to suggest you are, but with so many players out of contract in the summer I wouldn't be surprised to see another 12 months.

He's a bloody good centre forward. Just a shame he's suffered with a series of unconnected injuries.
We should be hoping to agree a fee under the £30m existing agreement with Chelsea at the end of his loan.
.sorry mate, but for me just one two many injuries now, they may be unconnected but a certain point the realisation must be he's made of glass and it's always gonna be something or other going on him

Yeah; he's not had any choice but to play him.
