Thanks mate. I'll think of that the next time I'm reading a thank you letter from a client who I helped win custody of his child, or the next 70 year old dementia patient I help get funding for long term care.

The next time I start to feel warm inside because I've finalized the adoption of a neglected child or appear in court to speak in defense of somebody wrongfully charged, I'll remember that me and my kind are scum who should all be set on fire.
The law.

Any of us can argue correctly for right and wrong. However, one needs to have studied the Latin phrases and be wealthy enough to afford the licences to do it on others' behalfs. This is how the law has been lifted above the means of the common man and turned into a money sapping exercise by the privileged classes.

Personally I'd rather intelligent, well paid people would better society by curing disease or bettering science.

I'm a [Poor language removed] born, orphan, Cancer survivor by age 30 who worked his own way through school without family, connections, or support to earn a doctorate so I can support my family.

But sure, I'm the problem with society because I was better at analysis and argument than chemistry.

Lawyers form a really important part of society , maintaining it's laws and providing a fair avenue for justice.
Law is my back up career if I decide I don't like physiotherapy.

Sue them into the ground. They are clearly a big threat. I mean, in a small village called Everton, who could fail to associate their shop with the club? We can't have our good name being ripped off by these Yorkie upstarts.

Where's the boar money, Bill?

Yes, I agree when used properly and essentially. In between times, the law makes work for itself, collects a disproportionate amount of money compared with other essential careers, and stymies society.

Well, genuinely, good on ya. Chemistry, too, is about argument and analysis, as are all the sciences. Without science we'd still be living in caves and we'd most be dead at 40. Without law I suppose, ownership of the cave would come down to who has the bigger club. While I admit that it would be a less pleasant place to live, at least one would be able to move caves without having to wait 6 months for lawyers to write a couple of letters that cost the clients 3 months wages.

The club are in a tricky no win situation here and this shop is getting some fantastic free advertising and promotion. Expect a picture of the lady and a smiling Bill Kenwright any day now.....

In other news, the members of The Oldies Thread call ourselves the GrandOldTeam and will start legal proceedings against any other group who infringe upon our trade name.....you have been warned.......
