I cant read twitter, whats he saying?

He's basically shedding some light on some past and current mortgages, some of the details are beyond belief (I'm no financial expert but there's stuff about Ray Ranson's former company in there, and them having control over player dealings), plus details about mortgages on Goodison, Everton One, etc...
I'm sure someone else can explain better...

2002? Is that when the Bear Sterns (sp?) deal occurred where we mortgaged our future revenue to provide for transfer funds at the time?

I assume it related to the Vibrac loan in2002. As security the club basically offered players contracts in the event the club could not make it's repayments.
It never happened and Everton and the money in football has rendered that security meaningless.

@ham2 - it'll date back to when the overdraft (that was on the verge of being called in btw) was cleared with the £24m long term loan, that was secured against future revenues.

The mention of player values is now meaningless given that the repayment on that loan is about £4m per annum and equivalent to about 5% of our TV / PL cash.

It's a case of someone posting documents on twitter that they don't fully understand

Do you think LCC was ever going to say publicly that they would have let Liverpool have the site but not Everton? It was a terrible site for a ground due to the lack of transport links, it's hard enough getting 9,000 people there for a concert. But if Liverpool had wanted the site, and threatened to go to Knowsley or another Borough, the loss of tourist money would have forced LCC's hand. This way they have kept both clubs and got a new Arena and Convention Centres.
Liverpool had passed on the KD site before it was offered to Everton, the envisaged 50,000 capacity limit was not going to be enough for them and their tourist legions.

Therefore LCC gave us a free run at it and gave LFC planning permission on Stanley Park conservation area....they give LFC something....they give EFC something = no local ructions.

The parties involved were the NWDA, Liverpool Vision and LCC with European regional money input. What you are saying is that all these parties collaborated in giving EFC "preferred bidder" status and then put obstacles deliberately in their way, wasting the club's time and money. There's no record of that, and had it occurred and inevitably hit the press that's about as big a political own goal as you could concoct....suicidal.

It may not fit your agenda, but this scheme failed due to lack of finance that had allegedly been ringfenced, and then a late refusal by Kenwright to agree a reverse mortgage on funding from Gregg.

Keep going though, maybe try some documented links to this new version of history and you might convince a couple of posters ?

How people can say were not falling back is madness. We have a deal with Chang and kitbag worth 8mil in 2014. Utd signed a deal with Adidas for 700mil. Granted there a big club and world wide but how do people except us to compete when Utd could buy Ronaldo 7 times and it would take us 10+ Years to buy him once(yes I no he be old in 10 years but that's not the point). Man U shirts are sold world wide our are sold in 2 shops.
We need much much better sponsorship.
8 mil wouldn't buy you a 1st teamer from any prem team and most likely 50% of championship

No, I'm not saying they put any obstacles in Everton's way. But the chances of ever building a football stadium on that site were very limited.
