I have to say that those who expect footballers to be brilliant at kicking a ball but also to have some sort of intelligence and a social conscience really do expect too much in my opinion.
Footballers who are at the highest level tend to be spotted at a young age and tend to put their efforts into playing football rather than their studies. There will always be exceptions but generally footballers concentrate on football.
I have not heard anyone saying they will not vote for Teresa May or Jeremy Corbyn because, while I agree with their policies, they can't kick a ball to save their lives.
Gray did make a complete arse of himself but if he does come to Everton I will base my opinion of him on how he conducts himself when he is here.
