Have Sunderland still not topped up the fund? Come on, there is so much money in the game. It's at 500k now, they only need to match our donation and the lad can get his treatment.

I think they gave a lot at the beginning, and the SAFC players too. Then there was using the Sky match to have him as mascot and putting the donation number on the big screen/for the cameras etc. They've done plenty IMO.

Actually enjoyed this gesture more than the game. Very emotional before the game when the young man came out. Thought Seamus was gonna hug him!!
Says a lot of our club and also puts all into perspective
Very proud blue today. Hope the young man pulls through and gets out on the pitch himself with his mates to kick a ball around

Watched the game in a pub with a mate whose a Sunderland fan and was well versed with Bradley's story, when I saw him coming out with Defoe I had to bite my top lip,I came home put the Sky sports on and the most pleasurable ever 'Breaking news' I have ever witnessed was the fact we donated 200k. Only yesterday I posted in another thread about our image with the public, well with one gesture they have catapulted themselves to the fore of the football public's thoughts and hopefully gone a long way towards helping Bradley and his family towards a brighter future.
Well done to whoever sanctioned the gesture and good luck to Bradley and his family.

In fairness, and I don't know this, it has all the feeling of Bill Kenwright.

RK congratulated the Chairman for the gesture.

Three lads i work with (a Geordie, a welsh guy and a Pole) have all e-mailed me this morning saying what a classy gesture it was by the club! Acts like this and management / financial decisions like this put the transfer window into perspective! Where i really, really matters, we do things as well as , if not much better than, any club in the UK! :) i hope many other prem clubs send a sneaky donation, or that the mutants try to top us and send 250k or something? Get the kid his treatment asap, because he looked so frail, bless him!

More than welcome mate.

I have had a soft spot for Sunderland since watching them beat Leeds in the FACF on my Aunt's colour TV in 1973 (we only had black and white) !!

So happy to see Leeds beaten that day, Bob Stokoe RIP

I was a bit younger than Bradley on that day, so can't remember it I'm afraid. Shame, as aside from a few final appearances since then, we've achieved nowt

Just got this email from a work colleague who is a big Sunderland fan...

The best team won in fairness so hats off to ye and congrats on reaching third!

What a classy gesture from the club to young Bradley too - they do make it easy to admire as a second team.

The defensive and wide pressure in the first half was encouraging but just a shame they couldn’t handle the attacking change in the second. I reckon he can sort it out given time (not that we could afford a replacement anyway).

Well done though, hope ye can kick on now that Rom’s back firing!
