Everton charged.

Failure to control the crowd , I imagine. Given that their reputation preceded them, and they had been causing trouble in town , the policing/stewarding should have been more robust as it was by the end.

Got a spare seat for the away leg if you fancy it, just chip in for the petrol.

I have never ever thrown a pie in my life. I'm not a monster.

Seriously though, I was in the lower bullens and no blame can be attached to Everton as far as I can see.

Whatever happens, I have a clear conscience as far as Evertonians are concerned.

Some Everton fans did throw stuff though and that is what the charge will be for, so in my opinion it is justified. Self defence is one thing, but throwing objects in to an area where you don't know who it is going to hit cannot be defended. I saw women in their away section so any object could easily have hit them and they clearly weren't the ones behaving like animals like some of their fellow supporters.

However, there was clearly a huge difference in behaviour from the 2 sets of supporters, with 50-100 of theirs involved in kicking off whereas it was probably about 6 or 7 of ours (2 ran on the pitch and I am guessing about 4 or 5 threw objects) who retaliated to their unnecessary aggression. I hope the lad in white who struck the steward is caught, no need for that at all. As well as the cowards who threw the seats.

Regarding the punishment for them, I just can't see any sort of tough punishment based on the last time where we played Dynamo Kiev after their behaviour against Guingamp in the round before:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/feb/27/crowd-trouble-dynamo-kiev-europa-league-guingamp

'Dynamo Kyiv’s Europa League match with Guingamp had to be halted 15 minutes from the end because of crowd trouble.

The home side were 2-0 up and heading into the last 16 3-2 on aggregate when a group of masked fans fought their way past stewards in a bid to attack supporters of the tiny French club.

The referee suspended the match and the away fans were forced to leave the stadium, before a number of Kyiv supporters began fighting among themselves.

The Kyiv goalkeeper, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy, went into the crowd to try to persuade them to halt the violence, but ended up trying to separate brawling fans and protect a steward who had been knocked to the floor.'

The repercussions for that behaviour was a small closure of a section of their ground and a fine.

It was a steward from G4S who got punched.

Extra stewarding that the club had obviously put in place for the away fans.

So it wasn't a normal EFC steward. One especially laid on by the club.

Premier League matches play every week.

I don't recall this happening this ain't the 80s.

So...who's to blame here certainly not Everton.
