Do bookings in the Carabao Cup stay in the Carabao Cup (like European games)? As in two bookings and you miss a game.

If so those three stupid bookings for Siggy, (for trying to retrieve the ball after scoring a pen), Richarlison (for taking his shirt off after he scored a goal),and Pickford( for inexplicably running up to the other end of the pitch to join in the fight) might come back to haunt us later in the tournament.

I think they just count as a regular first team game so go on to the combined total for all first team games along with the league and FA cup, so it's the usual 5 yellows before new year is a suspension.

I would think so,as a player for Lincoln got booked and caption on screen said he misses there next carabao cup game, which for them is next year, and if they go out 1st game,he wouldnt play in the comp for 2 years

EDIT,
Just read yellows only count in the comp they are received in,but reds count in all comps,so sent off in a cup game would mean a league ban

In the Premier League:
  • Five yellow cards before December 26 = one-match ban
  • 10 yellow cards before March 30 = two-match ban
  • 15 yellows in the season = three-match ban
In the FA Cup and Carabao Cup:
  • Two yellow cards = one match ban
  • Cards will be wiped at the quarter-finals
  • No player can miss the final through yellow cards
What are the other new rules?
  • Manager behaviour - Managers will be penalised if they have to be consistently warned by referees (however they will not receive yellow/red cards like in the EFL). Four warnings from the referee will see a manager receive a one-match ban, eight warnings = two-match bans, etc up to 16 in which managers would receive an FA misconduct ban.
  • Technology in the technical area - Coaching staff are now allowed to use technology in the technical area to show tactic videos and analyse data but it cannot be used to argue about decisions
  • Suspensions - Cautions are now specific to the competition but red cards apply across all competitions

Yeah i think if either of the three pick up a yellow in the Wednesday game they miss the next round tie, which is a big worry with Pickford, the utter moron, in fact Rich was an idiot as well, getting a card for a tackle is one thing, but what he did was dumb

Woulnt be surprised if they are not even sure themselves,as these are new rules for this season, still stupid yellows though

Is daft like getting silly bookings but like say the champions league etc surely there comes a point where the card gets wiped? Like the quarters maybe?

Edit- just read the above post and they do get wiped at the quarters

Didn't boa morte get booked?

The thing is with "silly" and out and out daft (Siggurdsons) bookings is that if they did anything worthy of another booking in the rest of the game, they walk. Down to ten men and lose them for other games.

I'm not going to argue with a tie against lower league opposition.

Always quite liked Sheffield Wednesday, hopefully we'll put a few past them before advancing without much fuss.

Same here i like Wednesday as well, and hopefully they will make it back to the top flight again asap. This is the second time we have played them since they went down nearly 20 years ago.I think our most recent encounter with them, was a 3-0 win in the league cup at Hillsborough back in september 2007.But as much as i may have a soft spot for Wednesday. That all goes out the window, when they play Everton.I hope we smash them.

Good club Everton.

Hard to believe they’re from the same city as the horrible, hypocrite, victims who play in red.

2 great clubs, a chance to sell 30k tickets and make it a great footballing occasion, little animosity or trouble between us,

If you absolutely made me pick a PL team I 'like' I'd say Everton, proper club with proper fans unlike the red part of that city, absolute filth of a fan base

Great club Everton, and that side they had in the 80’s were top drawer. Robbed of dominating Europe for a generation by the mob from across the city.

Memories of Jan '88 come flooding back,0-5 down at half-time
