Everton Attack Down the Middle Less Than Any Other Premiership Side

I normally agree with everyone who says Osman in the middle but today, especially in the second half he barely moved.

There were times when Drenthe was wide against 2 men, needed a pass inside but there was no offer of a pass and the move breaks down. Osman was a passenger.
That's probably because Cahill and Fellaini swapped rolls, so Osman had to sit back more.

I disagree, games where Fellaini has to sit back we still see him at least move across midfield.

With the exception of one hopeful sprint into the box to latch onto a ball over the top and a hit and hope cross that we almost scored from he was pretty gash, especially in the second half.

Not even sure what we can do to fix this other than get some new players in or bring in a few of the youngsters who are more forward thinking.

Then again is this just Moyes and his negative tactics?

or change the mentality of the team.

Look at swansea. do they have better players? No. But they play better, fluid football, a passing game.

Ive said for 2 seasons tactically and philosophy wise, we need a change as we have capable players

True, but our poor quality football stems from un-creative central midfield players, you couldn't say that Joe Allen and Leon Britton aren't more creative than a midfield that has Neville or Rodwell or anyone in it.

We seem too scared to attack at times there were times against sunderland we just didn,t know how to attack and it was a hoof into the box.

No, but Pienaar, Osman, Barkley, Gibson even Rodwell, can be as effective and are more talented than them if told to play a certain way.

A Joe Allen type wouldn't cost the earth to bring in. But he wouldn't be effective due to the way we play

True. Also, I looked at European passing accuracy tables a few months back, Joe Allen and Arteta was also in there.
Suppose it does help your arguement that he is now spraying the ball about as well as he used to now that Moyes isn't breathing down his neck to defend set pieces.

Not sure Moyes has the capability to have us playing the possession hogging passing game to be honest. Moyes values hard work over anything else when in fact many teams have shown that hard work and a fluent passing game can go hand in hand.

The middle tends to be where we turn possession over then spread the play into space. Such is the cost of workaholic Fellaini. The leggy beast.
