But the moment has gone once he's referred it. He can't call it back then. Whilst our players were, not unreasonably, celebrating a last minute winner Maguire and De Gea are straight at the ref telling him to refer it.

Even if they hadn't the VAR would have looked at it anyway.

Also, has a ref ever changed their mind because they were getting barracked by players?
How about Clattenberg changing his yellow card to a red for Tony Hibbert after the intervention of the love of his life Steven Gerrard?

The PGMOL said it was disallowed because De Gea couldn't see essentially. Which was utter rubbish because he had a clear view. But at least thats an actual reason for giving an offside in line with what rules say.

Moving out of the way is not an offside offence.
The worst part is that is just downright untrue. If they'd have come out with some bull crap about how it threw De Gea off because he thought Sigurdsson was going to deflect it that would still be blatantly wrong with how games are refereed but at least wouldn't have been a lie.
