What those clever clogs at Everton fail to grasp is that by calling the Goodison store Everton 1 it reads-

Everton 1 Liverpool 4

So they win on aggregate.

Actually no, seeing as Liverpool One - is a place name, where as the postcode would be L4.

Hence - Everton are genius.

And L4 means Liverpool 4.

They only call it Liverpool One because it's meant to be a hip little postcode.

Denial, dominic.

True, but the POINT is, on a letter it would read

Everton Two
Liverpool One

and...

Everton 1
L4

Hence, no problem. The joke is really for the postmen you know...

JUST ACCEPT WE'VE BEEN ROWED* DOWN A RIVER OF REGRET DOMINIC AND IT'D BE BEST AT THIS POINT IF WE JUMPED SHIP

To the [Poor language removed] at RAWK who pointed this out, screw you buddy.

That'll teach you to keep away from them mate, they just can't accept being beat and have to try and win everything on penalties

Everton 2, Liverpool One
Unit ??, Paradise Street (or something)
Liverpool One Shopping Centre
Liverpool, L1 8JF

and

Everton 1,
thingy road,
walton,
L4 XXX

indeed. it seems to me that folk are taking this all a bit too seriously - it's just a shop. tbh, i'm more interested in the turnover & profit generated than the name, but maybe the naff joke will actually heighten the profile of the store & lead to more retail activity.

Thats the idea - it'll increase publicity.

Think about it, throughout work places etc it'll be spoke about because of its name.

Man City fans have got it spot on,

"That's brilliant, great marketing"
"the more i think of it the more quaity it becomes. great marketing"
"I chuckled when i heard about this. The original megastore is getting re-named Everton 1 aswell so it doesn't look like a cheap pop at Liverpool."
"Even though it is! Top marks to the marketing people at blue dipper land!!"

That exemplifies the point - the opening of the new store is even being spoke about on Manchester City forums....

Can't see any of them rushing to "Everton 2, Liverpool 1" to buy their new Everton kit though.
Surely the only business this shop is likely to get is from Evertonians who should already know and if not ain't gonna find out from a Man City forum?

Sure having the shop will hopefully increase retail activity for EFC but i don't think the name is really gonna make much difference in this case.

Its good marketing which will increase exposure.

The Man City link was to demonstrate how it has increased exposure. I can't provide a link to workplace conversations in Liverpool....

Its funny now, but im fairly sure ill be sick of it in a few months/years.

We need a name that's witty at first, but gets less amusing each time you hear it.

But exposure means bugger all if people don't spend their money in the shop.

How is this exposure going to mean more people giving their money to EFC if the shop was just called "The Everton Shop"?
