Game over, down to 13th, what a wasted opportunity

But that's where we are. All we will do this season is avoid a relegation battle. The transfer window last summer was so poor that anything else is just sunshine thinking. Tight league just grigs people into thinking we can finish top eight. But a few injuries derail us and four points from a run of Burnley, Forest, and Brentford tells you we'll be achieving nothing other than safety this term. The next two (Wolves and Sunlun in the cup) could really change the mood music around here - either way. But we look to be sleepwalking to a safe but tedious season. Some will call that progress - and they'd be right. Others would say such progress is too slow. I think they'd be right too.
