Defo pen but can any player actually go to ground and make it look normal without massively over exaggerating the contact. The way players flail around and put their arms and legs in un natural positions I can understand why it’s not given however these clear dives get penalties and free kicks all the time so there needs to be more consistency. The ref clearly got them back into the game tho. His decisions second half couldn’t have been anymore biased.

I actually don’t think the sitting back was an issue. United were creating nothing still at that point. It was 2-2 and they had two shots on target that were goals. If you sit back for a period you need to keep composure and be good in possession on the break and that was more the issue.

We were calm and slowed the pace nicely at the start of the second half but then the ref started giving them every dive (of which there were many) and our players started to drop deeper

The initial free kick before Doucoure hand ball ahead of their goal wasn’t a free kick either

Ultimately, we should not be losing from being 2-0 up at half time (albeit it’s known as being a ‘dangerous’ score line)

Having said that…. The referee was very, very poor. I get that refs get a lot of stick on most games, today however this guy has had a shocker…. Until the 90th min the only players booked were Everton players.

I’m listening to talksport (a mistake in itself) and I’m listening to Dean Aston saying Harry Maguire is ‘naturally’ putting his hands around Ashley Youngs waist and Di Ligt has a wee bit of shirt but Ashley Young was too dramatic. The pundits are shyte too and only call these out for the bigger clubs.

2 points thrown away but still much, much better with a depleted squad.

The pull probably is a penalty and if he just went down more likely to of got it. The theatrics have cost us the penalty

I very seldom lose it during or over a football match, but this really has me fuming. Absolutely dispicable decision by everyone involved. Shouldn't come as a surprise though. The game is completely rotten and corrupt from the bottom to the top.

That penalty decision was 2 different fouls and they only looked at one is absolutely diabolical

It clearly stopped Young’s momentum and a chance at a bounce. If it were another match, there would have been no review. We’d already be watching the replays of Haaland and Salah celebrating.
