….important to remember that the Manager also has to think about not losing the game. I’ve not been concerned about substitutions, I thought the ones v West Ham were obvious and wasn’t thinking of others as I watched the game.
Why on earth would he think about "not losing the game" ?

I fancy us to win this. Football players absolutely love to drop their levels by 5% if they can get away with it, and after beating Liverpool and getting the win in Europe, Palace are due a game where they can drop off a bit when nobody is looking.

Hopefully we are good enough to take advantage.

This will be so AntiEverton as we are good only at reviving the zombies…

We have full backs?
Haha, not really! But JoB, Myko ( if either plays ) can help IF they're allowed/ encouraged to get up there.

I'm not saying Moyes tactics alone are squandering points. We've two forwards obvs lacking quality and confidence.

Watching Bournemouth last night, Iraola was able to influence a win by taking off defenders for forward players.

We had that opportunity vs Villa and West Ham. I'm prepared to see controlled, calculated subs that get bodies around the box to force a goal,or commit defenders to the same effect. Job's HUGE. Keane gets on the end of things, Myko has scored and can improve his ball in and so on

…..difficult to predict who’ll come in for KDH, given he does much of his most productive work in the top third the obvious replacement is Alcaraz but he’s not the type to play around and behind the opposition defence. Saying that, Moyes might expect Palace to dominate possession in which case Alcaraz transitioning could be an advantage, a bit like an away game.

Seem to recall Ndiaye playing more central for periods last season and not looking as effective, but you’d think he’d link particularly well with Grealish and be a more like-for-like replacement for KDH. Alternatively, he could start Iroegbunam further up the pitch in the knowledge that he’d give us a bit more defensively.

Bit of a conundrum.

You couldnt imagine Moyes making those tactical switches could you ?! Caught up with Palace v R/S on MOTD earlier in the week , very impressive fullbacks , midfield and the lad up front Mateta . Will be very tough game this with no strikers !

Not looking forward to this.
Palace are in good form and just beat Them...

I fully expect to see Moyes play Beto and a frustrating first half, typical of what we've seen in the past weeks, as the ball bounces off him and he can't finish whatever half-chances we manage to fashion against a solid Palace defence. I think they will pick us off with pace and power on the break

I'd go with

Pickford
JOB Tarky Keane Miko
Garner Gana
Dribbling Charly Grealish
Skilliman

But I have a feeling Moyles will go with

Pickford
JOB Tarky Keane Miko
Garner Gana
Skilliman Charly Grealish
Beto

It still baffles me how we have injuries that seem by all accounts relatively minor when first reported (knocks, pulls etc.) that then turn into major season long, career defining injuries. I know all clubs get injuries, but seriously, what the hell are we doing that is turning our lads soft tissues into jelly?!

On topic - we’ll struggle with our lineup, but with luck whatever we put out on field will click. 2-1 to the plucky gelatine-muscled blues
I would question the extent of our injury list.

I'd in particular question those of Aznou and Rohl. They are much more likely the victims of Moyes policy - which he underlined explicitly yesterday - of keeping new players sat on the bench for ages before putting them in the first team.

That's another reason why this dinosaur has to go. I hope Kinnear is relaying this to the owners. It'll help them punt Moyes all the quicker when the time comes...shortly hopefully.

I have a few theories on this around players either not being fit enough, personal issues or any other reason which the man on the street wouldn’t accept so sometimes it’s easier to say they are injured.
