I'd love to see the authorities call their bluff though.

Redress the balance of power. No club is more important than any other - Nottingham Forest have won more European cups than Manchester City - football is cyclical and has relied for over a hundred years on a meritocracy; you get what you deserve.

Money flooding the game has ruined it and this is the net result - greed from the clubs who have benefited since 1992.

Just tell them to do one. Give them a straight choice - league football in England with continental qualification, or your own crap little 18 team bubble that nobody in their right mind would give a toss about after seeing Liverpool vs. Barcelona for the 20th time in 2 years.

It's not hard, just needs someone at the Premier League/FA with a set of balls.

Exactly call their bluff and they'll crap themselves.

The likes of John Henry and the Glazers don’t know what any of thats about though. They don’t know or care about the traditions and foundations of which English football was built on.

Of course they are. It doesn’t affect most of their fan base tbh it’s the minority of their fans (the actual scousers) who will be the ones who suffer as a result of this.

That would probably help them in starting their own European league earlier and help them come up with the excuse that they were really forced into it.

Don't care really mate, the Champions League and Europa league are the established premiere European competitions, built on qualification and are not a closed shop to any team good enough to qualify. The European super duper closed shop league is not. This will probably destroy football, but so what we'll have a few more richer Americans running around.
