Europe Thread 25/26

  • News stadium with 12,000 more fans
  • New ownership laying down a few quid to make some difference
  • PL in turmoil with Chelsea stinking the gaff out and Spurs near relegated
  • half the league tied up with European football and two games per week

= golden chance to achieve something.

The grim reality is though that Moyes ruined our chances by refusing to make use of players brought in to deepen the quality of the squad, and his fabled "strong finishes to the season" evaporated in 5 of the last 6 matches taking 5 points from 18.

If any owner is retaining and handing cash to him they'll underline how unfit they are to be involved with this club.
Of the 12,000 new fans at the stadium you don’t appear to be one.

Keep howling at the moon from your armchair in Wigan.

Reckon if we win the next two games, which should be possible given Palace are distracted and Sunderland should not be feared at home, we will go into the last game of the season on 54 points, level with Brentford and Brighton and one behind Bournemouth.

Then it'll all come down to final day results. Brighton at home to United, Brentford away to Liverpool, Bournemouth away to Forest.

I also think Spurs will be well and truly safe by our last game, for whatever that is worth.

If you put away the frustration that it should be totally in our hands by now if not for stoppage time meltdowns, it is still not over. But we're gonna need at least seven or maybe even nine from the last nine, and you can make your own mind up about how likely that is.
