Europe Thread 25/26

6th is right there for the Champions league. As per most times under Moyes tenure - we just didn’t remotely bother in January, despite a handful of points bringing in huge money.
I hope 6th gets the Champions League and it is Brentford or Bournemouth. Let them show what can be attained by tiny clubs, let alone nine-time champions with a massively fearful underachievement fetish.

Today ended our chances

You can't expect to keep your better players when you don't have europe and you can't expect to sign the top players you want if you dont get Europe. Especially when like 10 other teams can offer it and have that advantage

We were in a great position after Chelsea and we've blown it. The manager is just totally unable to rise to the occasion when it's needed.

If our “better players” play like they have done in the last few weeks, maybe it’s time to look for more players. Europe this season would be an overachievement and I doubt the Friedkins were planning for Europe this season.

If they weren't planning for the possibility of Europe then they weren't doing their job. The aim at the start of every pre season for every single club in football should be to win something, otherwise what's the point.

We've played like we are scared to try and win at tined in the last month.

The Friedkins have made it clear that the improvement year on year will be gradual and I assume they have some sort of plan as to where they want the club to be after each season. I’d be surprised if their plan relied on us being in Europe after their first full season in charge.

They’ll be looking to build further in the summer and whether we get Europe or not, there will be players available to improve us but we need more players for the here and now I think. Last summer, most of the players we bought were with one eye on future seasons.

We will likely lose to city next week. Then if we get 1 point from our final 3 games which is possibly all we will get then we will match last seasons total

That’s also what his wife said

It was unlikely before today’s game with the form of Brighton and Bournemouth. It’s even more unlikely now.

I’ll be honest if we finish mid table for me it’s been a poor one.
