Just out of interest mate who do you think has turned his head and where is he going?

Don't know mate i have no inside info i just have this feeling he will be gone and to be fair he could get in real madrids or chelseas 1st team. His dad isn't helping matters either with his well timed outbursts

haha yeh his dad talks a ****ing good one I'll give him that! he has come a long way, the first year he was here so many people said how he hadn't adapted and was picking up needless yellow cards but he has really developed as a player! That little 'olay' he did against Citeh last year was sublime! he was our record buy so if he does go you'd like to think it would be for similar money (which obviously needs to be reinvested in the squad). For some reason I think he may stay but on a hefty wage. If we do manage to sneak 6th it may just make him think we can still go places. If you were a top team would you question his injury-proneness or is that being harsh?

I hope so would love him to sign but i think his head has been turned and he's off

He's kept his mouth shut. It's hard to know whether his father is speaking on his behalf or is just a bit of a loose cannon. It was maybe a bit risky of Moyes to say that he was talking garbage about playing Fella with an injury. Who would be willing to pay £25m+ for him though? City have an abundance of defensive midfielders already, I think Abramovich is reticent about opening his wallet and Real don't have the sort of money they used to have. Our worst nightmare is that he runs his contract down.

He spent more than 70 million on two players just two months ago, man.

Real and Chelsea would both splash out £20-£25 million on him if their managers thought he was worth it. So would Man U for that matter.

I know. I think that's because Chelsea were slipping out of contention. Overall I think he would prefer not to spend any more money. Over the last few seasons they've tended to sign freebies like Turnbull, Sturridge and Sidwell or make comparatively modest acquisitions such as Benayoun and Ramires. His stated aim was always that Chelsea would become self-sufficient. There's no problem with them being able to afford him, but would they spend so much when they already have Ramires, Essien and Mikel in there.

I think that Fergie's decided for the good of the club that he's not going to spend big. Smalling and Hernandez were expensive, but their value will very quickly increase. They'd be paying top dollar for Marouane. Their more typical signings these days are Owen, Obertan and Bebe.

Fair point, I was thinking he hasn't really managed a full season yet but then thinking about it no pro really does these days, only Distan has come close for us anyway this year. Is there a case to say Everton blooded him and he is still learning his trade here. He will get regular games in one of the best leagues in the world. Hope he stays but if he doesn't want to then no one is bigger than the club. Guess at the end of the day the deal has to be best for Everton not the big fella!

He's been unlucky with injuries. The one last season was because of a tackle in the derby. I think he probably picked this one up in a similar way and that it's been aggravated by playing on it. Someone like Dean Ashton, Owen Hargreaves or Michael Owen are perennially injured just because of the way they're built.

He was pretty well established at Standard Liege. Here's an interesting quote from his agent regarding why he rejected a move to Man United before signing for us:

Meanwhile, midfielder Marouane Fellaini has ruled out a move to Old Trafford by signing a new contract with Standard Liege.

According to Roger Henrotay, the Belgian Under 21 star's agent, Fellaini snubbed a possible move to England because of his desire for first-team football.

"United phoned us yet again urging Marouane not to sign for Standard," Henrotay told the News of The World.

"But we did not obey them.

"The lad is young and he will get better still, but only if he plays first-team football.

"He'd have earned a lot more money had he gone to Old Trafford but he wouldn't have played."

That is interesting Billycooper, good find! Players want to play at the end of the day. I think his game and size suits the Prem League, so on that logic it would only be the top teams that may turn his head. I wouldn't like to say if Chelsea will even have the same manager come May....United have large debts and it would be interesting to see if he really is a top target for them....arsenal...this new guy is trying to buy out the club so it remains to be seen what is happening there...City...perhaps..doesn't Dejong play there? Suppose if he did move there we could get top dollar.... if I was Everton I'd earge him to sign a new deal, see where we are in a year or two, highlight we could still finish in the top 6 and if he wants to move in a few seasons at least we will get a higher premium for him. He hasn't actually said he wants to leave, only his Dad and I personally don't know if that is the media twisting things anyway. It is such a horrid thing to say but him and Rodwell getting injured may just take the limelight off them and stop clubs sniffing around them. Hope he is here this time next year, but as they say, watch this space...

ok , im very confused about this europe placing ...

league cup winner - birmingham..... euro league

fa cup winners - man city , man utd , stoke or bolton ... if winner is a top 4 team then the runners up get the cup spot .... euro league

top 4 .... champions league

5th ...... euro league

6th .... may be - fair play .... euro league

so arsenal , chelsea , man city , man utd are all set for champ league

euro league - birmingham , spurs and fa cup winners/runners up + 6th may get a fair play spot.

but am i right in thinking that if bolton get 6th and win the fa cup then 7th place might get a euro league spot ?

I thought the cup runners up dont get the Uefa anymore, so that place should revery to 6th if Utd/City win it...............no?

I think this is the 5th time I've posted this.

1.) The FA Cup winners will qualify for the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League providing they have not already qualified for a Champions' League place.

2.)If the winners have qualified for the Champions League, then the runners-up qualify for the Europa League.

3.)If the runners-up have already qualified for the Champions League or the Europa League, the highest placed team in the Premier League standings who have yet to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League would qualify for the Europa League.
