As far as I am aware, under no circumstances would England get 8 places in Europe, regardless of any of the scenarios that can happen. It is a maximum of 7, and the only thing that can change is the allocation of Europa League and Champions League places being 3-4, or 2-5.

So if United won the Europa League, but finished 8th. United would get a CL place. I think 7th place would then lose the Europa Spot. Assuming one of the top 4 won the FA Cup, then the top 4 would get in the CL, United would get in the CL, and then 5th and 6th would get the 2 Europa League Spots. If Boro/Lincoln or Millwall won the FA Cup, then they'd take the 2nd Europa League Spot, and 6th would miss out.

Thanks lads. Just looked it up and there can be 5 from the prem if UTD win EL but finish outside the top 4. So it would be 5 in CL(top 4 plus UTD) and 2 in Europa

Lets say the table stood exactly the way it is now and UTD win the EL while finishing 6th. Chelsea, spurs, city, Rs and Utd would be in CL while arsenal and us would be in EL. UTD winning out of the top 4 does not send 4th place to the EL. It was discussed last year when the RS where in the final, City wasnt losing their CL spot even if the RS won

i know lol,we are getting europa at best for me which is pretty good start for koeman,,top 7 will be in champions league next season,with us finishing 8th,
