I can live with Liverpool getting priority on the thursday....no surprise there. But why the hell do we have to kick off at 5:45????

They don't want our game clashing with the Champions League money train.

UEFA are the ones who have effed up here, yet instead of them risking losing some tiny bit of tv money from a fixture clash, they make the ordinary fans pay the price.

I think its madness, we should be playing at 7:45pm on the Tuesday, I dont actually believe it will have any impact on tv viewing, but alot of fans cant get to the ground for that time on a weekday.

Personally I would have prefered to play the away leg first, if it meant we could kick off at a sensible time infront of a full Goodison for the home leg

Why should it be us playing on the Tuesday at 7:45 or at any time on a Tuesday? We started this competition at a qualifying stage and have played all our Europa League games on a Wednesday or Thursday. Now the ********s come in and they after failing so miserably in the laughably named Champions League, have got into a more advantageous position than us. Platini and Blatter can shove this competition up their proverbials now as far as i am concerned. Not having a go at you mate, i am just mad at what is going on right now.

We battled Uefa extremely hard and made the obvious issues very clear indeed, trying every route to find an alternative. But the reality we were left with meant there was no other option."

Everton Club Secretary Dave Harrison explained: "In circumstances like this Uefa have a stadium and cities clash document which quite clearly indicates the procedures that need to take place and the order of priority for eligibility. Unfortunately, as a result of those priorities Liverpool have staked a claim for the Thursday night standard Europa League kick-off time.

"The same document makes it clear fixtures should be fulfilled on Tuesday with an 18:00 CET kick-off (5pm GMT) if they cannot be played on Thursday. We have managed to negotiate an extra 45 minutes beyond that time."

Uefa broadcasting regulations mean that the game cannot be played later in the day as it cannot clash with Champions League fixtures.

Liverpool take priority over Everton as they finished higher than the Blues in last season's Premier League table. Had Everton won the FA Cup final against Chelsea, the situation would have been reversed and Liverpool would have been left with no option but to play on the Tuesday.

Pretty clear that lads, think you all need to calm down.

What a crock of crap. Cant we get a club secratary with balls. Not buying that they finished higher than us. Is that why the top four get there own way with everything? Is that why we had less time to prepare for the Carling Cup clash at Spurs while the RS, who have a manager who disrespects the competition, have an extra day get ready for the Arsenal game at the Emirates. Ok, we may have lost anyhow but who knows in hindsight. I have just two words left why the RS always get there own way, BRIAN BARWICK!!

Are they really actually worried about neutral viewers watching Everton vs Sporting instead of AC Milan vs Manchester United or Inter vs Chelsea?

Don't see what the problem is really, dem rules are dem rules. Sort an early dart from work and away you go.

Oh wait, its because of Liverpool? BELLSTONE etc etc, hate this club.
