Was surprised not to see Çakır for one of the SFs, was expecting him for ENG-DEN, but yesterday I read that he went back home flying from London, and today it was confirmed that Danny Makkelie will instead officiate England v Denmark game.

So I'm confident that this leaves Bjorn Kuipers refereeing the final. Good ref him.

Though, I would say this is unprecedented, Makkelie already officiated one KO game of England, another one came as a shock to me, and many others at various referee forums stated the same.

To be fair, I can understand your confusion. Most England fans wave the British flag and they also use the British national anthem before games.
It's almost as if some English people don't even understand the difference themselves

That's not a stat, now this is a stat: Of the two tournaments Wales have appeared in we have been knocked out by the eventual winners. Brazil in '58 and Portugal '16. Denmark 2020(1) to make it a hat trick?
