It's killing you isn't it......

Amazes me how happy you are to let people off the hook Pete. Farage hopped it the day after the vote, Boris was nowhere to be seen. The only person that actually provided any leadership after the result was announced has since been rounded upon by the slimy bunch of opportunists led by Gove. He and his cronies appear to have had no plan whatsoever for what to do should they win, and you seem to be giving them a free pass on this bizarre oversight.

While George Osborne stepped into the breach with Davey boy with their Brexit plan -NOT
Davey resigned his PM said he would stay welched out on that even- they should strip him of his PM pension for life!
No one could find Gideon went into hiding a Waste of space he was ruining our country with his austerity dogma picking on local councils, and the disabled and the sick which by the way the new leadership are already reviewing the contracts of the WC scheme costing billions to USA and French based firms IT specialists Local authorities cut to the bone - some big society for the rich!

It was and remains the responsibility of Government and the Civil Service to produce options and plan for our EU exit, not for those individual politicians who are now tasked with the production of the strategy and plan. Farage is not even an MP, he holds no office in respect of Government or a leading role in our future exit talks, he has no role to play.....

Rather a bit glib IMO. Again you are defending staying in the EU and you focus on the well being of the EU rather more than on the your own country. You talk of the benefits to the UK economy in respect of the EU workers here but that is rather a small contribution to our economy and from your own admission not all their income is spent here but rather sent back home.

As for spending I was under the impression the country was trying to climb out of a huge financial hole amount to hundreds of billions! So you are saying we do not need to repay that borrowing!

What I have said (and believed for many years) is that immigration benefits the host (UK) the immigrant and the immigrant's home economy (through repatriation of funds) - it is this wealth creation and distributive effect which creates a win win situation for all involved.

The only way we can solve our deficit and debt is by growing our economy. Immigration assists in that process.

Tell me Joe, you and the wife are in the car going somewhere, and you want to take path A and she wants to take path B. If you take path A, do you expect her to do all the navigating still or do you take responsibility for the path you wanted to go down? Coz at the moment, you're not only doing that, but you're moaning at her for path A being a bit crap.

So surely he should have had no role to play in the campaigning whatsoever then? If he had absolutely no accountability for the nonsense that came out of his mouth, why should he have been given any platform at all? I suppose in some ways it fits with the 'post-truth' world we're in, that there is absolutely no accountability for anything a populist politician says.

Not me,I've lived in continental Europe for most of my adult life, and that part of the Leave argument was the only part that made much sense to me.The EU is a large bloated machine, and the idea of the UK (the Worlds 6th largest economy) being able to make it's own deals without having to go through all the usual EU hoops seemed to make sense. Now we have a Govt dithering over the date of Article 50 ,making economically suicidal deals like Hinkley Point and Nissan in a vain attempt to stave of the inevitable.

What is this 'inevitable' you mention......

Japanese companies in UK 'already receiving offers from EU'

Japanese companies based in Britain have already started to receive offers from other European countries and could postpone investment decisions if Theresa May’s government fails to negotiate a close economic relationship with the EU.

That was the stark warning from Haruki Hayashi, president of the Japanese chambers of commerce in Britain and the European CEO of Mitsubishi, who said businesses needed more than “general reassurances” if his country’s investment presence in Britain was to be maintained.

Hayashi emphasised the importance of factors such as membership of the single market and customs union.

“Some examples of areas of concern for Japanese companies include validity of the single passport system, the free movement of skilled workers between the UK and different parts of Europe and whether the continuation of the current environment of uncertainty will lead the Japanese companies to postpone further investment decisions,” he told a reception organised by the Japanese embassy in London at which dozens of companies were represented.

It could also mean companies would seriously consider relocating to other countries, he added, urging the government to speak to Japanese business figures throughout the renegotiation process.

“Some Japanese companies have already started receiving offers from alternative European host countries,” said Hayashi.

“I cannot speak on behalf of each individual member of the chamber but the message coming through loud and clear is that more than general reassurances are called for at this stage to ensure that the Japanese investment presence in the UK is not diminished for lack of consultation and information sharing.”

Not a word is surprising and it's on the agenda of other non EU nations I'm sure.

Lots of people, politicians, media, campaign workers etc played a role in obtaining a specific vote outcome but have no responsibility for the detailed plan......the likes of Farage have spent years deliberately winding up EU personnel and other MEP's, it is sensible to keep him away from any future discussions......
