Worth pointing out that the effect of currency devaluation hasn't really been felt yet for most consumers. Inflation will rise and your wages will be squeezed.

Purchasing power will dimish, so will spending on non-essentials. That is often a pre-cursor for a recession.

Christ lads, just one day eh without all the doom and gloom. When they publish anything negative you lot are all over it like a rash proving Brexit is bad, when they publish anything positive you are all over it proving Brexit is bad. And the same people are forever calling the Brexit supporters for not being even handed........I absolutely despair.....

You've got to look at context though haven't you Pete? At the moment it's a bit like sitting in the centre of the tornado and commenting on how the weather has improved.

It's good that Nissan are staying, but given what Ghosn was saying just a few weeks ago, I do wonder quite how much money has been thrown at them to ensure they stay. I mean few would regard Hinkley Point as a good investment for the country.

Doom and Gloom hey -
Growth in the last quarter up by 1/4 %!
Two massive car deals done with the Japanese north east companies!

Phillip Hammond states we will go into negotiations on leaving the EU in a position of massive strength which will help negotiations.
If you look at a post further back I did predict that May would have rabbits to pull out of the hat and their will be more before article 50 is signed countries will be cueing up to trade with us without the red tape of the EU I see canada finally got there 7 year deal done after 300 000 people in Belgium one of six parliment were arguing over the EU agricultural policy grant they get complete nonsense - the sooner we leave the better!
Michael gove was on early this am on LBC radio he seemed to to be so happy he is now on a cross party committee headed by hilary Benn, he and a Labour MP are joining up to control our borders and he kind of gave the game away things will be better;)
Control of borders would point to no single market access and I doubt quarterly figures will have much real meaning until after Article 50 is finally triggered.

But it went from an increase In the economy to recession in about two posts.......
