who is bothered what you get up to mate?
everyday you will be on multiple cctv. in shops banks roads, even walking past your neighbours if they have them, internet is monitored already, phone calls as well, ring a bank and say the wrong key word and it gets flagged up by various systems, your mobile lets anybody interested, know were you are ever minute you have it turned on I don't give it a second thought , if they said they were going to microchip everybody in the Uk and monitor us I still wouldn't be.

I get where you're at mate, but IIRC before 9/11 bliar had introduced some like 2,500 laws - quite a lot a lot to do with civil liberties (and their erosion). Joe public wasn't consulted about them.

Doesn't take terrorism for people to lose their liberties, just takes a snide, underhanded government.

Surveillance might not bother you, but strangely enough, it bothers pc plod. They don't like being filmed, even though they film just about every protest ever and people are on their records then - for the 'crime' of taking part in a legitimate protest, as is their democratic right.

Do you agree it's right for construction companies to have employment blacklists? That's a form of surveillance.

Would you gladly abolish cash so all financial transactions could be monitored? Barring microchipping everyone from Jan 1st, that's perhaps the most kafkaesque thing that could happen...And there are some would like that.

Thats your choice mate,to me its intrusion,its constriction of civil liberties,and its all one way FOI unless ots something they dont want us to know

The question is mate - Where will it end?

When you have councils using the RIPA Act (Brought in to allegedly investigate/intercept communication between criminal/terrorist factions) to go through your bins to check everything's in the right bin...

And the shameless retention of innocent people's DNA; people who VOLUNTEERED to give their samples in order to catch real criminals like murderers...

Absolute power an' all that.

I'm sure been fed up and you've asked yourself if it's right when someone or some corporation wants to know how many times a day you go for a sh...

I wouldnt let the postman open my mail,I wouldnt let a stranger check my phone or e-mails or constantly film me while selling all the info to companies why should I be happy about government doing those things,while people with money can hide behind super injuctions,government can hide things in the interests of national security,its a one way system thats the thing I dont like

I must be just to easy going doesn't even enter my head to worry about it, sorry but they are already doing the stuff you don't want them to do

It did initially but until the effect upon the Eu is understood nothing will change. It's much easier to just look at the UK. However the head of the European Central Bank has just suggested that the EU will suffer as a result. But really, who knows. We can all guess, we can think through and work out some form of strategy, but no one, absolutely no one (certainly none of the 'experts' ) have a clue what will happen, and anyone who says they do is deluded........
