The paucity of thought... there is a version of the United Kingdom that is celebrated abroad. An idea of fairness, of representation and adhering to a standard.

As the right has dragged the UK beneath the waves it has become tedious to see all that was once celebrated as epitome of Britishness attacked. You and your kind will not benefit from the UK becoming a European Singapore or Russian money laundering facility. That you walk, so willingly, to the argument that state regulated and funded broadcast media is to be opposed in favour of private funded, unaccountable broadcast is abhorrent.

I grew up, as I suspect you did, where the right at least adhered to some sense of responsibility and reverence to the institutions that make the UK special. Now denigrate, hijack, sell and bemoan the sale of these institutions and it breaks my heart.

I grew up when there was still something left to sell as quick and as cheap as they could. To hell with who they hurt. Now there's nothing left to sell, all there is is harm. As painful as it is to live through, they sew the seeds of their own demise, when the boomers, gammons, and racists die off, who's left?
