The problem with this fanfare is that the government’s own economic analysis of the benefits of joining this bloc is underwhelming. There is an estimated gain to the UK of 0.08% of GDP – this is just a 50th of the OBR’s estimate of what Brexit has cost the UK economy to date. Even for those that are sceptical about models and forecasts, that is an enormous difference in magnitude.

CPTPP is not a replacement for trade with the EU it is in addition to our trade with European countries…..

My favourite part is:

The fun bit is a) we already had trade deals with most of those countries (and most were rolled over from our EU membership), and b) you get Brexiters regularly saying we should reshore stuff and grow our own turnips, but are now touting the virtues of a trade deal with countries thousands of miles away.

Why do you think that Brits should be automatically exempt from immigration regulations in EU countries.
Why should we get special treatment?

It's the fact that half the population threw away our freedom of movement. I never would have thought that would have happened in my lifetime. We are rightly getting treated like a 3rd country now.

I think you are all missing the point and show no compassion. My comment was not directed at rules or visas or free movement, this is about a poor woman who is bedridden with Alzheimer’s in a care home with her closest family also living there. A bureaucratic excuse is being utilised to expel this poor woman. It’s a disgrace and anyone defending Sweden over this matter should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves…..
