Taking back control by having less options, well done brexiteers
For your information (although I don’t have to justify myself to you or anyone else for that matter) I voted remain, but why should we be dictated to how much money we take on holiday. Plus how would they police this policy (of cause if the report is true) demand you show your bank details at security?

Such criteria are commonplace if you want to go and live somewhere. Indeed, many short-term migrants to the UK have to pay an "NHS surcharge". Bit shitty, isn't it?

I get that, but we’re not going there to live nor are we short- term migrants, we’re going on holiday for 2 weeks ffs.
That as may be, but those are the rules Spain currently imposes on non-EU visitors, which now includes us. This isn't that unusual, with our own government imposing an "NHS levy" on visas to cover the costs of health tourism.

Jesus Christ, educate yourself on the topic first, this arrangement is for people with no pre booked accommodation and open ended tickets, we have the same system in place in the U.K. and it’s been there for years, it’s merely a check to ensure you can sustain yourself whilst in the country… it’s not stating that’s a minimum everybody should have.

They'd have to stay for two years to get an appointment these days.

These are common requirements for entry into a EU country.
UK could have imposed such requirements when in the EU but chose not to do.

US have required the same information for decades. Think the Aussies do too now.

The U.K. do have the same rule and have had for years, the checks may not be stringent but if you’re stopped and can’t explain how you’re going to sustain yourself whilst in the U.K. you can be refused entry, I’m guessing it’s the same all over the world, it’s just the headline has sensationalised something to get a reaction

Indeed…..

Well, you'll need to prove you are on holiday and not over to take all our jobs and women.

If you cannot fund your stay - or an extended stay in the event of an accident or unforeseen event - well, can I direct you to the latest flight to Rwanda?
