I read it that being top of the "With asylum" table is way more important than being top of the "No asylum" table.
It's a mealy-mouthed use of statistics, as it only covers refugees that have been pulled from an asylum country and resettled, so it would automatically exclude all of those who came directly to Germany, for instance, or indeed those who arrive into Britain via boat. Indeed, it would exclude any of those arriving in Calais from Ukraine also.

It was Merkel who initially wanted no refugees then inexplicably and unilaterally declared that Germany would take everyone (having decided that her economy needed them) thereby throwing the whole of the EU , who had no say in her actions, into the refugee mess it’s in now. Have a go at Boris by all means, but let’s not forget who is really to blame, Merkel and Putin.…

Bruce, I didn’t produce the statistics, it was in a BBC report that a poster was using to call Boris a liar. Even the BBC had to agree with him. Statistics can prove anything we want, if we wish.
I have no time for illegal refugees, and I’ve stated so often. Any Ukrainian that goes through the process will be made welcome and looked after, not like those poor buggers hanging around France and being left to their own devices in Calais. The problem is that the Home Office have made a buggers muddle of it, as they always do, and why Patel got rid of the previous head of the HO…….

I think it will to be honest. Still relatively popular in Germany which is unusual for a leader serving as long as she did.
I can also say, with as much absolute certainty as you can do with these things, that history will be kinder to her than the current clowns in charge in London.

If you are in danger in your country of origin or residence, and you want the UK to grant you international protection, you can claim asylum when you are in the UK.

As the website clearly states, it is impossible to claim asylum unless you're on British soil. I guarantee that if there were other ways to do so then people wouldn't put their lives at risk getting into a boat. They're not doing it for shits and giggles.
I'm not sure you really get it, do you? He broke the law that not only we were expected to obey but people have been prosecuted for breaking. He then lied repeatedly about that law breaking ever having taken place. It's like you have absolutely no [Poor language removed] standards for the person charged with leading our country. You may as well have a crook like Putin in charge. It's all you deserve.
