“If we left the EU . . . we would have to recognise that most of our problems are not caused by Brussels, but by chronic British short-termism - a culture of easy gratification and underinvestment in both human and physical capital and infrastructure.”

He's using you @peteblue, you know that, right?

Bruce, I didn’t listen to a single word uttered by Boris or Gove prior to voting. Our problems, short termism underinvestment or whatever, have always been hidden or excused by blaming the EU. You will no doubt remember that I wanted to remove all the excuses and make our government stand or fall by their own decisions…..

i don’t necessarily include you in this pete but I do wonder why Cummings was hailed as such a hero and driving force behind a brilliant campaign when I have yet meet a single person who believed a single thing they read or heard . It seems every promise is dismissed with ‘oh I never believed that for a second ‘ .

It seems rather than a triumph it’s possibly the most ineffective campaign in history or rather than admit being duped certain people might be telling fibs . I suppose we’ll never know ,

So you wanted to remove excuses that are made by the party that you always vote for, despite the now Prime Minister of the country saying that those excuses are nonsense and it was always all about them anyway? So if you always knew that and knew that when the Tories were blaming the EU for everything that it was bubbles, why did you not hold them account by not voting for them?

I see the EU are at odds with our government over the precise WA payments. This comes at the same time as the German led EU have reduced Germany’s car industry fine by €1Bn. All we’ve ever been to the EU is a cash cow and a defence shield…..

You're not reading the Telegraph until the afternoon Pete? Retirement is a cushy number.
