Once again time will tell‘The accord also means quota swapping -- where rights to species are swapped between boats -- may no longer be possible for U.K. fleets. That means the amount of cod they can catch in the North Sea will fall to 57%, from 63.5%, the Scottish government said. Much of the mackerel and herring caught by U.K. boats gets sold to the continent.
While quota swapping between individual countries will no longer be allowed, the U.K. and EU will hold separate talks over developing a new mechanism. It’s still unclear what the outcome will be, and that means more uncertainty for fishermen.’
that’s the pertinent bit for those who haven’t bothered to read the argument.
As it stands they can’t swap quotas which means there will be less cod and haddock until another agreement can be made. I’ve no idea what the carrot and stick would be though.

Tucked away at the end after the gloom was a small piece containing possible good news. Just in case anyone missed it
'The deal obviously brings benefits too. It will let U.K. fleets land more overall, with extra volumes should benefit processors -- the middlemen between fishermen and retailers -- going forward, Wing said. The government has pledged a 100-million pound package to help rebuild fleets, aging infrastructure and expand the processing sector’s capacity to handle the extra catch.
See. People are understanding that they need to wait and see. 5-10 years down the line the outcomes will be clearer and backed up by factspledged lol
wait and see if that happens
I wouldn’t say it was doom and gloom. Fishermen are saying they are disappointed with current deal. They can dish more but in a product that people don’t really eat. They can land as much as they want but we have to eat mackerel for that to happen.Once again time will tell

Unfortunately the fishermen would moan at any deal. They were sold down the river by the heath government to get us into Europe. I actually think the cod issue will be sorted but who knows.I wouldn’t say it was doom and gloom. Fishermen are saying they are disappointed with current deal. Do you think customers who like cod and chips are likely to substitute? (I wouldn’t).
If not then the point is irrelevant.

Weren't you saying that the German car lobby would put so much pressure on the EU that we would get a super-duper deal with them?If Imported cars cost more money because of non Eu parts, just buy cars made in the U.K...no one is forcing people to pay extra for cars made in Germany.....

If I were Brexit just keep digging the hole you have fallen in to it's more dignified and preferable than the woeful attempts of trying to fill said hole. It's clear you have no idea how cars are manufactured in the modern age even the UK ones.If Imported cars cost more money because of non Eu parts, just buy cars made in the U.K...no one is forcing people to pay extra for cars made in Germany.....

I'd be happy to hear some of the benefits to be honest, or even plans for how the benefits will be delivered.Anymore sandwich stories today. Now that is inane blurt , up with the worst of it.
