'Local residents have been told works on the 66-acre lorry park will now take place 24hrs a day. The surfacing crew will carry out 40 lorry movements per shift and that does mean reversing bleepers will need to remain in use.'

Welcome to Brexit guys
I've seen some comments lately re Covid, that if the older generation had to lockdown to protect the younger generation, they would do so without argument/thought. Pity the older generation weren't quite so considerate of the younger generations when it came to the referendum, condemning their future as Brexit likely will.

And for what?

To think this massive waste of time and money was completely avoidable, if only people hadn't taken in by a bunch of liars and opportunists,

There’s a truck stop just on the side of the A55 before you get to the port of Holyhead, all of the workers received letters two days ago informing them that as of January 1st they are all being made redundant. HMRC have bought the building and grounds as a base for their customs checks. Another nail in the coffin of the town which has lost thousands of jobs over the last ten years with the closing down of big industry employers such as RTZ and the nuclear power station nearby.
I know Holyhead well and my old man worked on Wylfa power station. I also have a number of friends there and they are largely all committed brexiteers which was also the majority vote on the island. I don't understand what benefit local people could see coming from making the port less attractive to users for its primary purpose as the historic gateway to and from Ireland ? The A55 was upgraded across the island with EU funding so there was already a direct connection to the benefits of EU membership. I'm obviously missing whatever the local issue was to make brexit the answer..........

I’m as baffled as you mate.... I think a lot of people had lost faith in the long serving labour mp after the loss of so much well paid employment locally (how it was his fault major companies decide to close is beyond me) and went with the rainbows and unicorns promised by bojo and his cronies

Perhaps you should ask your friends why they voted to leave...but actually listen to them......
