Oh no, Twitter has decided that Nissan will close...and you lot lap it up because you believe it proves you were right. So any chance of some logical explanations of why you believe Nissan will close, other than what someone on Twitter says obviously.....

Because they picked their side and haven't the wit to know how to change. They failed to use reason when they made Brexit their religion (see also: Trump) and so no amount of reason will talk them out of it (although I do know one girl, met last year, who voted leave and regrets it).

Just look at the utter bilge Pete is infecting this thread with now. Just taunts and things like "must be nice to know everything". He can't honestly defend the position (there isn't even a cogent position to defend) of the Leavers in power, but after years on the frontline there's no turning his face from his failed arguments without a humiliating climbdown, and so has convinced himself to carry on believing.

It's utterly pitiable, watching a wretched creature such as Pete wasted his time on here, showing himself up time and again as the walls crumble down.

It’s normally good form to tag someone you are attempting to criticise...so, this closure of Nissan, any actual proof or even logical argument ?.....

You'd imagine even Truss would balk at that arrangement?
Just read the above back to yourself one more time mate.

I imagine that there would have been, not too long ago, a big fat analysis on the various repercussions of all the aspects of a trade deal.

Do you really think this lot, with their self inflicted lack of time and proclivity for optics above all else would have undertaken and digested such advice?

so an a manager , no name by the way quoted, annouced to the world nissan are shutting there Sunderland plant , and this is taken as fact on here?
Surely Nissan would see the outcome of any deal or not before making any annoucment ?
Probably useful at this moment to also point out that Nissan haven't made any announcements either.

the EU didnt mate signed a deal , that from feb tarriffs on Japaneses car imports drops year on year till 2032 when it will be zero.
its already gone from 10% to 9.2%.
Dropping tariffs is great, I'm just not sure why Truss would agree a deal that makes it easier to import cars from Japan while presumably knowing that Nissan are planning to up sticks? For a politician, that seems a bit bonkers.

I'd scarcely trust Truss to tie her own shoelaces to be honest.
