Yep, people have generally been conditioned to vote according to their own financial interests over the last few decades, and assuming that to be the case, deprived areas that receive Eu cash need more margin than the Newcastle result 'cos the south could be a high pro-brexit count.
The worry for me is that deprived areas are more likely to blame immigration for their ills.

so basically the financial markets are like this right now

I hope this is a joke mate as this is trading in its purest form
No. I believe people should earn wealth by doing something useful to society. Not gambling (aka trading/speculating). Gambling just collects money from others who probably can't afford to lose it and have no say in whether their wealth is gambled.

Get a proper job!

Erm, this is a fundamental misunderstanding of what is going on here

Big result in Sunderland for leave
51930 to 82394
39%-61%

Listening to the guy with the 'Swingometer' (for want of a better term) on the Beeb, he seemed to indicate that that 61-39 in favour of leave was way beyond what was expected - i.e. it was expected to be far closer. Whereas the Newcastle vote to remain was way closer 50.7-49.3 than expected. I think those two results have soemwaht floored the pundits...

If the above is reflected across the country, it should be incredibly close. Incredible history in the making. Please God, let me stay awake as long as possible tonight...!!!

Absolute carnage this is causing betting wise at the moment, fascinating stuff. The market is starting to right itself a bit - I think the situation was if Sunderland had been tight or even a small Remain win it was all over. That 61% leave has spooked a few but actually doesn't really change the overall picture which is probably still a Remain win.

Anthropologically I do wonder why Newcastle and Sunderland's political results are so different, any reasonable suggestions?
Newcastle has quite a large student population, which would probably account for at least some of the discrepancy.

Appreciate what you are saying mate, but the funds I use for investment purposes have all been earned through my own efforts so I'm not sure why there should be an issue with this?
Money isn't being created by useful means, it's being collected from someone else (or even another nation), who probably doesn't have a say about it.

Y'all are trifilin'
