I’m still slightly in awe that so many people are still dismissing Boris as a lightweight/buffoon/idiot. More fool them.. Johnson, as we have discussed on these pages before, is one of the smartest and most astute political operators of the post war period. He has proven himself as a both a formidable and likeable politician - a deadly combination. Some political commentators have drawn parallels with Churchill.. and not too surprisingly as Johnson studied and even wrote a book on Churchill. The man has done his homework.
The first step on the road to winning is to understand your opponent and to understand the game. Labour haven’t even understood what they are up against.

This really, but Boris and Churchill are different, both good leaders and politically astute, but Churchill also understood and grasped the detail, as I found when I read his half a dozen volumes on WW2. Boris doesn’t seem to do detail to the same degree, but that’s not what he’s there for, he is a figurehead, a motivator who happens to understand what people want......
