Lads you're piling in here, I'm just saying what the difference is in legislative terms. I also think workers rights should be strongly protected, I'm just saying that the Bill allows scope for divergence.

In theory (and yes, I know unlikely) it would allow us to potentially improve on the EU standard rather than stay aligned to it. That's all.
It wasn't a pile in and I know the difference in legislative terms. My response wasn't argumentative, it was about the fact that the PM is saying one thing in public and possibly, and I think quite likely, positioning the UK for another behind closed doors.

Starmer has made the point previously, the EU standards are an agreed minimum, not a straightjacket. You don't need to opt out of a 'street level or higher' system unless you're heading for the basement.

Don't agree with that at all. The incoming Waste Framework Directive, as an example, is vastly more than an "agreed minimum".

I agree with your final point though.

Eh? You've lost me there chief - I was specifically referring to potential divergence on worker's rights. Happy to discuss another topic if you want like

Another 3 month delay....

There needs to be another Peoples Vote to clarify the situation after people were lied to at the last referendum

Tory expat I play footy with tried to discuss brxit tongiht and mentioned it had to happen because of the open borders. At this point I knew it was no longer worth my time so I started a convo about footy with the lad next to me and split the group of 7 in to a nice convo and one about fairy tales where brown people are bad.
