Yes
Maybe I did not put my Point across well
The Italian coffee manufacturer could not guarantee them that supplies would be available from its base in England

Well how can he guarantee that supplies will be available from Italy? They still have yo be imported into the UK, and I can be be pretty sure they wont be landing a Jumbo in your mates service station.

Sorry, thought you were Scottishlol

I'm a big fan of Scottish people in general and what they have contributed to the UK over the years. As a race I think they punch massively above their weight as can be seen from the number of Scottish prime Ministers seen over the years, their dominance of the UK banking system, their huge contribution to the UK armed forces, and not least their contribution to UK sport who's impact on the mood of the country should never be underestimated.

But I confess I am not a lover of the SNP, possibly because they want to break up the UK. When you want to break away from a union you should expect some backlash. Any disdain they get in parliament I liken to the same disdain UKIP MEPs got in Brussels. And you can hardly say that Scotland is not well represented in parliament either. Along with Northern Ireland, it has more MPs per capita than any other region of the UK.
I feel truly lucky to live in Edinburgh, its an exciting capital to be around. I'm also not a fan of the Snp, I vote green up here who are also an indyref2 party. I've always liked your posts and think you always answer rationally, so is it OK to ask you why you think the potential breakup of the UK is a bad thing?

The coffee is made in Italy ,exported to England and then re exported to Ireland.
The manufacturer is not sure he will be able to export to England and if he can he cant guarantee continuity of supply

lol

ok, Ed Sheeran i admit is also known in Euroland.

If you are talking current UK music, I havnt a clue. It doesnt register with me, let alone Finland.

But if you are seriously comparing UK music over 50 years, (you referenced the Stones and The Beatles) against Vanessa Paradis and The Scorpions, well, no words.

That must be the most ridiculous post for at least an hour or so.

I think it is an exaggeration with a hint of truth behind it, most people born in the 80's or earlier abroad will have heard of the super bands of the late sixties/early 70's and obviously the worldwide superstars that have come from these shores. The recent bio films will help push the popularity of The Beatles/Queen/Elton John to a younger audience too.

But you'd be surprised how little some know that you think are big names, likewise they are surprised when we don't know x who happens to be massive in z.

so so blinkered...

with the exception of Beatles & Stones the rest of british music, as good as a lot of it is, remains relatively unheard of in other European nations as...shocking i know...they have their own rich musical culture to listen to.

...and if we're talking world influence and success, these german fellas piss all over your britpop:

I love Rammstein as much as the next bisexual who sometimes wears mascara on the weekends but that's a bit much.

Which is why I said that. X Factor in any European country works the exact same way as it does in the UK.

But the wider point remains; UK popular music boots European popular music right in the head.
