Yes but if we dared and voted Out we were doomed ........

Not reading rubbish google links anymore ok - you feed what you want back as your answer ok.......
If Brexit had been sorted with a fair deal we would be striving by now , but the EU/Mafia want to make an example of us ok
It's a mess by a Remain PM in the U.K. ......
If only we could've had what we were promised by liars and fraudsters...

What's a good Google link, perchance, one that agrees with you ?
I think the distinction lies in that he thinks he just uses Google to evidence his knowledge (such as it is), whereas apparently when I link things it's not the same thing, I'm just using Google to find information to support my claims - which in his eyes are false.

It's an odd thing that in the thread, where if you make a statement, the Leave cadre demand you evidence it, but when you do, it's just 'googling'..

It's a wonderful position to be in, you can simultaneously shout about lack of evidence or 'making things up', while dismissing any evidence that is presented.

It's also frustrating that Joe usually refers to the Euro zone when making these points as well, despite Britain not being in the Euro, and unlikely to have been in the Euro for the foreseeable future, even if we stay in. Czech, for instance, is not in the Euro and has done very well recently. Poland is not in the Euro and has arguably been the best performing economy in the EU over the last decade.

On the specific point raised, it's also a debatable point as to if growth is itself the best measure of the countries economic health.

I read that Ethiopia is the worlds fastest growing economy, yet I see very few people championing their economy as something to aspire to.

I suppose the ultimate irony is that Joe so often complains about Google being used to search only for information that confirms our existing views (I accept that we're all perhaps guilty of that to an extent before @abelard mentions it :p)

Yes but there's an entire practice concerned with literacy/digital literacy which measures an ability to find, interpret and present information correctly (which I would note some are appalling at). I'm not exactly sure why using something like Google to evidence your point, is any different to say using something like RePEc, WestLaw, LexisNexis or MEDLINE.

In Joe's case it's become a catchall for just reading stuff, which is kinda sad, which creates a strange juxtaposition between their dismissal of experts, and seemingly all that contributes to one being an expert, and their desire not to be accused of being daft.

Yes but those experts have never done a proper job like the non elites: working in the City, banking or being a career MEP for example.
