Read my post again the first thing he stated was both sides got the sequence of negotiations incorrect that is what he maintained- I mentioned also the French do exceptionally well out of the CAP policy in the EU fact ..... so he would have a slanted bias towards the EU ......
He is only one former person from the WTO - the EU sit on it on our behalf doing deal for us .....we need to be doing our own trade deals .......
That's why the Out vote won imo..
Feel free to post some current or former WTO negotiators that think it's preferencial to trade under WTO rules or that it's even a good idea to 'fall back' on WTO arrangements.
Other countries deal directly under WTO rules that are negotiated in preference to their countries needs - the EU is not the b all and end all of trade.....
We are restictricted if they negotiate for us........
