Honestly, @Joey66 , stop being such a drama llama. There's clearly nothing unsavoury being implied there and it's been explained to you by multiple posters. Either you're just being wilfully obtuse now or you're revelling in having a grievance. Either way, it's not a good look.
Nothing obtuse about what was posted about me ....
I take it you are clued up on history mentioned nearly mentioned a week ago not even the subject of a young girl please keep out of it......

Hello.

Politics. Or 'current affairs'. We've never really got to grips with how best to handle this discussion on here. This is a new initiative we're trialing for a month. If it works, sound. If it doesn't - we go back to;

My own view is that we're a football forum and politics divide and cause needless angst that is detrimental to the community. Approaching 10 years in February, we've always tried to discourage political threads because of the the outcome is typically a negative one.

Still, GOT is a unique beast - lots have asked for a place to discuss current affairs and this is our 'But Ok...' and we'll review. It's your platform and it's down to you to make it work.

Our advice to make this forum work;
  • Don't be a tit.
If you are, your account will be denied access to this current affairs forum.

God speed.

Thanks.

Correct Khal. The Shinners needed a new high profile candidate for there who could appeal to non typical voters and they found it in John Finucane.

In the absence of another Unionist Pact then the DUP have a fight on their hands to hold North Belfast.

A Brexit enduced GE could be bad news indeed for the DUP.

Indeed.

Mr. Finucane has much broader appeal in the leafier parts of Antrim Road and on Somerton Road than Gerry Kelly ever had.

Hence the Sinner surge in 2017.

To add to this, if people could stop tormenting @Joey66 it’d be a great idea.

Of course no one should torment Joey. He misinterpreted a post and thought that it insinuated something disgusting, something that any of us would be furious about if we were accused of it. We'd all get angry if we thought someone was insinuating that about us. However, the fact remains that he was wrong about that but he's refusing to admit he was wrong, which is causing this issue to keep going

It would be nice if he could accept that he misinterpreted the post from Jeebs (Which multiple mods have now agreed has happened) and we could all just put this behind us. The issue has been reported, it's been dealt with the official way and a decision has been reached. Joey now needs to accept that and stop accusing Jeebs of something he simply did not do

No misinterpretation did you not read the mods post about butting in ?

Nobody is keen, it’s paralysing EU politics when there a lot more important things to deal with. Quite a few have issues with an extension, the problem is most likely the coming European elections. You’d have to deliver a no-deal in such a manner that it doesn’t benefit the euro-sceptical parties; bring it in a manner that you can solely point the blame towards the UK, they are managing that quite good tbf. A no deal Brexit will mean some people losing their jobs (not a lot in most countries but still). You don’t want them feeling angry and have a Eurosceptical backlash. At the same time, you also want to mirror the frustration of the population towards the difficult Brits (for fun you can read some Brexit comments on a random French newspaper). A difficult rope to walk.

Hmm having read the last few pages; I think it is best to post this article here (about Liverpool and Brexit in Le Figaro from a few weeks ago; http://www.lefigaro.fr/internationa...ARTFIG00098-brexit-liverpool-l-europeenne.php) – originally would not have done it but I think it is probably best now to change the subject a bit.

Interesting as ever mate. In the end we are the architects of our own disaster. The EU must look upon our own internal political stumblings with total shock and disbelief. As you state on the EU side, the UK leaving the union needs to be managed and controlled in such a way as to not spark similar revolutions. Speaking to my wife's family in Holland they look upon us as complete lunatics!

Even if we leave with a softer brexit we still, will not have a better deal than the one we currently enjoy! It's increasingly frustrating to many in this country who see the German economy slowing down, they see France's spiraling domestic issues and they wonder, what if we stayed in the EU? We could become a greater force within that organisation and become a real influencer, rather than a country that has existed on the EU fringe for so long.

I would say as well that Dodd’s EU stance will most likely see moderate Nationalists give their vote to the candidate most likely to topple him. No way will he be sleeping easy at the thought of a GE.

I have said several times before....the DUP stance on Brexit is making rebels of even the most moderate of nationalists :)
