I don't know what to take from that. It seems to me that she has taken a long extension off the table which rules out a second referendum and general election. She is staking everything on cross party conciliation coming up with a revised plan on future relationship that she can take to the EU, with a view to getting everything completed by 22 May. If she can't get agreement directly with Corbyn she will go back to parliament with a series of indicative votes to see if she can get agreement on something there. If after all this, parliament can't come up with agreement on any plan, then we leave with no deal on April 12th.

So this now narrows the alternatives down to either a soft Brexit or no deal. Have I got that about right or have I missed something?

I. Think. So.

I.Think.

(but not sure)

I really don't understand the benefits of labours stance on brexit. Surely if we're going to go through with it we should have the freedom to pursue an independent trade policy? What are the benefits of leaving and remaining within the CU?

No deal should happen but won't happen. The EU will allow us to stay as long as we want. Don't believe a word of their rhetoric. They would love us to revoke article 50. They are terrified of us leaving. They are terrified of losing our 39 billion.

This is heading towards either a lengthy delay and an election or the softest of brexits and an election.

I think no deal option has been consigned to the bin.

It will be a soft Brexit with Jezza’s input into single market / customs union oh and Jezza gets to use Teresa Mays private trap in HoC for his mid-morning dump (after May has warmed the seat).

She's staking everything on her deal or no deal.

I guess the immediate issues of a trade deal, the Irish border, and supply lines and stuff, get sorted.

The longer issues of actually not being "free" from the EU, future trade deals, and making rules and stuff are more opaque. To say the least.

Unless I have mixed that up with Norway, Common Market 2.0, Canada + or Cinderella.

The PM was actually very clear there. She will ask for an extension until we agree a deal. Essentially she's removing the Brexit date and changing the default position from No Deal to Remain! As she will now fully honour any decision the HoC arrives at now.

Just wait for the ERG response, and listening to Farage just now they will be spitting.

Labour have no policy on it. Corbyn wants to leave but is flirting with the voting base.

Labours only policy is 'we want an election'

And why would the EU agree to it?

Thing is she’s snookered the hard line Brexiteers. As she’s already won the leadership confidence vote so they can’t get rid of her internally.

They only way they could oust her is to make cross party alliances and push for a GE.

Jezza must be buzzing off all these new options. Have her adopt his deal to leave or unite with the Hard Brexiteers in the Tory party and force a GE.
