Sumo does make Farming equipment. It isn’t exactly a huge company compared to a lot of European imports that are more commonly used. John Deere is an American company with tractors built in Germany and France. That’s the EU. You obviously forgot a lot of your own agricultural past, or obviously haven’t been anywhere near agriculture for a while.

We once made the best tractors ever, and still could if necessary.

When? There hasn’t been a true solo U.K. designed tractor that’s been able to be mass produced since pre WW2. Since then the Tractor market has been dominated by imports from Europe. JCB make some, but hardly enough to really service the market. We can’t create a new line of tractors in 12 months.

Also how did the UK ever survive without the EU?

First we had this thing called an ‘Empire’ then we struggled a bit, then we joined the EU and life adapted.

I remember the Agricultural industries being the leading light in the UK, and once having the biggest say in the HOC........with representatives of MPs in the house

The reason the Farmers don’t like the EU is because consumers get veg far cheaper from Europe. They can see a time when we have to rely on them for food and they get to make money again. As much as they huff and puff it’s very transparent.

Same with the fishing industry. It modernised and we never really caught up, the EU met the demands of the market far better. Remember the Cod Wars? The EU put a stop to nonsense like that.

Maybe your agricultural past is way outdated or else you would well know that British farming has gone down route of labour intensive farming where the likes of Germany have followed a high tech machine farming. There is no mass market incentive in the UK for a farm machinery start up unless the UK method is changed.

Really are they just going to put hundreds of EU
BMWs, and everything else on boats and carriers and not export them?
Remember they export more to us the 5 th largest economy in the world so they just give that market up overnight too do they?
It works both ways if they put tarrifs on we would get richer!

Probably not the best example to use when the EU actually told France what they were doing was illegal. If that was repeated post Brexit the French could carry on that ban with impunity..

It does, but we shouldn’t pretend that is all that’s required to do that or that there aren’t real issues with how freedom of movement currently operates (take today’s news from Malta, for instance).

Yes burning the lambs very friendly free cross border trade the other articles are up to date we have and make agricultural equipment in the UK - so do not deflect your argument that we have none ie we have to import it.....
