You will find there was specific agreements in place meaning our border was technically in France for such situations. I suppose as we are leaving, the EU is winding down the operations. If I remember correctly this type of incident occuring was part of project fear hysteria, guess what? Gaining sovereignty comes with responsibilities, one of them is maintaing our own borders.

We are still in the EU under Mays deal for ever.... maybe don't blame us voting Out for this, my your worse than Mark Carney......

Yes they are desperate what are the French doing about it - someone's making cash to organise it it from the Calais camps that have sprung up yet again, as before no effort from the French authorities the crime is the un scrupulous gangs who are chargingin 40 k for the service of sending people including children into dangerous waters....

I know you don’t usually bother reading or answering questions but if you could , you say the French are doing nothing about it . Could you set out for me maybe three or four things you’d like them to to do that would make a practical difference to the problem .

I’m not trying to be smart , There clearly is an issue and you think they are tackling it so what’s your plan ?

Presuming you mean in relation to people smuggling You don’t think they’re trying to do that ? You think France as a collective are completely ignoring the whole people smuggling issue. I mean I’d imagine that isn’t the case but practically your solution is stop it happening ?

A crime lord who headed up a criminal network that smuggled hundreds of people into the UK has been jailed in France.

More than 1,200 smugglers were arrested in northern France in 2017, according to the prefect responsible for security and defence, Jean-Christophe Bouvier.

Bouvier told Le Journal d’Abbeville: “In 2017 we arrested 1,200 smugglers and dismantled 40 sectors (smuggling rings). In January the figures are proportionally the same.

More pay and less say, Mays deal. Maybe this is part of of having less of say, we manage our borders?

Once you introduce uncertainty it's very hard to run any service. Having worked in a number of Conservative austerity slashed services, once the pendulum of effectively closing a service swings in, staff start to move on very quickly vacancies are not filled etc. Can't see it being any different for those in France protecting our border by the way of EU treaties once the referendum had taken place, once sercure jobs becomes insecure, unfilled vacancies become common place, service begins to underperform and struggle, it's not rocket science.

Let's get this correct its the French border they are breaching twice.......

The border checks in Calais, Dunkirk and the ports in Belgium are actually UK border checks, just as those in Dover et al are French border checks.

That’s not the point of my reply my point was they’re obviously doing something , because I speak English the reports I find tend to be English centric .
