You will be ignored @Khalekan

Oh I know, Bruce.

But it is important that someone points out these simple truths to Joe because other people with less blinkered, head in t’ sand views might well read these words.

And in case they are reading them........if, as that well known open minded periodical The Spectator tells us, a No Deal Brexit is nowt “to fear” on account of WTO rules, then why is the government trying so hard to secure a deal with the EU and why do Brexiteers boast that they will have “40 trade deals in place the day after we leave”?

Why bother conducting the tedious trade deals all major trading nations conduct when we can just take our goods to market under the auspices of the WTO and their rules?

Or have we all been missing sommat all along?

Time we conclusively buried that myth.

WTO rules are primitive, barely better than nothing.

Which is exactly why countries worldwide try so hard to do trade deals.

Fundamentally WTO is for countries that can't do any better.

And if Trump has his way, the WTO will all but collapse any old way and where would that leave us?

Up the proverbial, that’s where.

Let me repeat.

If WTO rules were desirable in the first place, why would any country be falling over itself to do trade deals with as many trading partners as it can?

Yet more nonsense from the Brexit loving right wing media.

You are being duped, Joe.

;)
That's why the EU sit on it on our behalf........ ever heard the saying cut the middle man out.........

Joe I don’t know if you block the poster who asked , have you got a source for JRM not taking his mp’s salary ? I’ve had a look and can’t see it reported.

Whether its true or not, he certainly doesnt declare his dividend income from his EU based investment house, but even then, on declared income, he is by some way, the most well paid MP from their non MP activities.

Against same sex marriage, against real term pay increases, pro zero hour contracts. Some hero to support eh @Joey66 ?

Better than 20,000 euros per month paying tax at 6 percent.......
Uproar if our MPs milked that salaries in the commission.....

Our MEPs in there do. That said, I agree the EU is bloated, has ridiculous benefits, and can be infuriating, borderline corrupt, jobs for the boys.

Remind you of anything?

It was a wind up.... nothing compared to what EU commissioner gets paid though.....

Ok well good one , quality wind up . I’m not going to accuse you of lying because maybe you got something wrong because obviously I wouldn’t but

They are not paid that amount they are members of the ERG by the wat J RM takes no MPs salary ......

That doesn’t read massively like a wind up Ilifbim being completely honest but you say it was so I’ll take you at face value .

Please dont post wind ups Joe. There is enough factual nonsense as it is, without folk just making stuff up.

That said, I would expect an EU commissioner to be paid more than a backbench irrelevance of an MP, who represents a few 1000 people, as opposed to a whole continent.
