Thought Corbyn did okay there, should have highlighted the fact that most of the Tories issues whilst negotiating stem from wanting to lower environmental/worker's/food standards.

..like it or not, politics is lots to do with image and communication. This is where Corbyn fails and the reason why Labour aren’t miles ahead in the polls.

..yep, I saw that this morning but I think Labour should be miles ahead at this point in time.

Why? The country is divided over an issue that transcends politics and Leave has (or at least has at the moment) less divisions than Remain does (in the sense that what became Leave was pretty much Tory / UKIP, wheras what became Remain was already split along Labour / Lib Dems / SNP / Plaid long before the referendum and will be for the forseeable future).

Even at its absolute electoral peaks which both took place in unique circumstances (1945 and 1997) Labour only got 47% and 43% of the vote. The 40% that Labour keep hovering around is a considerable base from which to build a GE campaign from and it would be enough for a big win if the UKIP vote abandons the Tories.

Well yea, but when we make important decisions, appearances shouldn't suffice, one ought to make use of all of our senses and reason.

UKIP up 2 points in the poll.

I didn’t like UKIP in the past but I could at least partially understand why they were attractive to some mainstream voters. Anyone who votes for them now with a leader courting the FLA , Robinson and peddling the “Islam is a death cult” line knows exactly what they’re getting . It’s a far right party and I’ll have no excuses from anybody that supports or votes for it , I’ll expect them to own and defend those beliefs .

Hopefully they'll split the Tory vote.

I agree with you, but when the media as a whole have been courting Robinson, peddling the anti-Islam line and branding anyone who opposes this Brexit as a traitor you have to accept that a pro-Robinson, anti-Islam and anti-traitor party is likely to be boosted politically. They are after all the only place that gammon who are appalled by the PM can end up, if they keep voting.
