“Another common misapprehension is that questions about the border are linked to controlling immigration. In fact immigration is not controlled at the border but at the workplace. Further control is provided by restricting access to the benefits system and to housing”

Who said that ^ mate?
Explain what control there is with free movement from the EU- all for controlled immigration.....

Border control will have to be stepped up every where..

Ok but within the UK isn’t a border , that’s the point . You can employ more UKBA staff but they can’t Deal with those arriving from Belfast because it’s the UK . People are travelling within the UK , it’s going to take an awful lot of legislative and legal juggling to sort it out . The DUP just aren’t going to have it and why should they ? I wouldn’t be happy , it’s a mess Joe and no amount of positive thinking will make it go away .

I was a remainer but all I want now is stuff sorting , I imagine I want a very different Brexit to you but I want it resolving . This situation has the potential to escalate to a level that is significantly more serious than people being annoyed by some fella speaking polish .

Cork I would imagine... ;)
Needed one of them before the ambulance arrived

Mate I’m not being rude but again that has absolutely nothing to do with the point I’ve made , honestly it’s completely unrelated .

Only we’ll giving up our entire tariff free trading, barring the 3 African nations May danced for.

So you’re admitting by definition that we’re chucking away a valuable asset.

Remain never told any lies did they...

Oh yes they did..

What lies did the Remain side tell voters before the vote that significantly influenced the result?

2 of Vote Leave's main claims were the false figure of funds that would be provided to the NHS, and Turkey IS joining the EU. You've got evidence of people coming out saying they were influenced by that in how they voted. Vote Leave was lead and backed by many senior people within our Government.

Vote Leave cheated and used dirty tactics and for that reason, the result is questionable and undermines the Brexit Backers' calls for the result to be upheld with no care for what impact it will have on our Country.

Not looking that way mate. It’s like watching a slow motion car crash.

You can say that again! I liken it to the true story of what happened to the Titanic, pretty much the same story we all know only they saw the iceberg miles ahead. So far ahead in fact they had a vote on what way to turn, 52% of the passengers and crew decided to turn to port after a fictitious campaign promising this will save both time and money and breaking the European directive to turn to starboard in these instances. The only problem is by the time they had done all this it was quite obvious that would lead to disaster. They thought about having a second referendum but this was decided undemocratic and they should uphold the original decision and stay on the same course. Unfortunately it hit the iceberg some 20 minutes later, but at least democracy won the day and the 48% got to say we told you so.

What’s really starting to hack me off is the weird view of ‘upholding democracy’ by a segment of Remain voters. Despite admitting that it’s a complete Horlicks and knowing that people were conned and the outcome is going to be rotten. There’s some who object to the idea of a People’s Vote solely on the basis of a kind of weird sense of ‘fair play’. “We’ve voted to shoot our own legs off, and therefore the legs must go, it’s the right thing to do”

Yep massive bugbear for me too. It is something that my tiny brain can't get my head around how it is undemocratic having a second vote. It is more or less the same people voting, not like we have brought in a load of ringers to fix it. I suppose a good few leavers would have died in the meantime or are incapacitated to go and vote and some of the younger people are now at voting age but that is their fault for not specifically outling what brexit was first time of asking.

I will admit that I had that view for a very short moment, until I realised the true extent of the cheating and lies that went on. Added to that we've seen how awful the negotiations have been, and how much of a hole we've dug for ourselves.

I won't pretend to have known all the consequences when I voted in June 2016, but the problems that have and will come from this are abundantly clear to all now.

Some of those who are just happy to go along with it aren't too interested in the subject any more. They'll become re-interested when it starts having an impact on their lives though.

I only look in on this thread now, but feel that the above part I have have put in bold and underlined needs to be responded to, as that in itself is a lie. The figure on the side of the bus was an EQUIVALENT amount. There was no way either campaign could state categorically that the Government of the day would allocate any funds to anything, since the advocates of both sides were campaigners, and had no executive function to allocate treasury funds anywhere. I realise you may not have seen this point covered hundreds of pages back (perhaps over a thousand or more pages back), so I have clarified it here.

On your last sentence, it has been acknowledged in this thread (by both side of the debate, I believe), that both sides cheated and used dirty tactics. Step forward Cameron, Osbourne & Carney for the Remain side...

I'll make no further response to any replies to this post. It stands without requiring any further reply from me. I'm more concerned with the malleting we got last Sunday from a London team, and the almost certain malleting we are going to get from another London team this coming Sunday...

Only his statement wasn’t a lie, as has been pointed out to you a thousand times. As the figure was false, and they promoted it knowing it was false, it was therefore a deliberate and conscious lie.

Happy to help (again).

They would be an emergency budget with tax rises and more spending cuts. Didn't happen.
Big business would leave in droves. Hasn't happened
3 million jobs will go. Hasn't happened
David Cameron said Britain could control Immigration by being in the EU. Another Lie
Universities were told they would lose their Horizon 2020 funding if we left. Again another lie.
Britain would fall instantly into a recession. Another lie.
