Look. I wasn't personally attacking you. I dont know you. Take umbrage all you want but in my opinion, Trump and Farage ran similar campaigns that used fear to make an argument. Both won. Sure, some looked at the economic situation and made a balanced decision on what way to vote but a lot were swayed by fear.

I know you weren't.

I know you are rather late to the discussion in this thread also. It was posted a long time ago by the 'Leavers' that the 'fear' argument was used by both sides. I think that can be taken as a fact, since we all heard it from both sides. It was a case of parking the crap from both sides and arriving at your own decision. But some in this thread have labelled those who voted 'Leave' as racists, bigots, etc.. That's why you find the 'Leavers' contesting as strongly as they do, since such accusations are simply appalling...

and i'm sure some were persuaded by fear from the other argument that brexit would mean financial systems meltdown. It was a crude and negative campaign from both sides. There were intelligent people on both sides that made their decisions for many differing reasons. The result was the public voted to leave. Thats all that can be inferred from the result and to imply that one side's voters are (insert insult here) is puerile.

I want the hardest brexit going to see the polictical EU union come tumbling down!

I want to see the hardest Brexit because that IMO was what the vote was for (to leave the EU not stay half in it).

However I also want it because it will lead to us being truly internationalist and IMO more successful economically once the initial effects of divorce are over.

(To Finn Fans post) Yep, and Brexit voters are all "deporables" and racists and not intelligent and don't understand that UK will be worse off economically out of the EU...

I said Farage relied on fear in his campaign, I then gave an example. I never insulted any voters. If anything, you're insulting me here.

Agreed. We have the chance of making tariff free agreements with any countries in the world (except the EU countries who won't let us out of sour grapes!).

While in the EU we didn't have that chance as THE EU DIDN'T ALLOW IT!

And as I have posted before, when the Port Talbot steelworks was in dire need of assistance, the UK Government had to seek the EU's permission to give any kind of assistance. If the EU said 'No', the UK Government could do nothing. Is that the way we want the Government to run the UK? At the 'Yay' or 'Nay' from the EU? It appears the Remainers think that's just alright...
