Nice image. Is it me, or parallax - oil looks a fair bit bigger than coal, and biomass vs nuc seems off?

I think because the majority of Oil is being used for transport and in a straight line to it.

As an aside, I wonder how many people think that 1.5 or 2 degrees of warming simply translates to a slightly warmer UK and a few inches of sea-level rise

Over the last couple of years we've switched our house to full heat pump/mini splits and switched the car to an EV.
There were good government rebates to help make the switch

but

The cost of electricity is nuts. I spend most of my time preoccupied at how much a few inches of snow is going to cost.
And the charging network for the car (not a tesla) is diabolical.

We opt for renewable electricity which costs more. Drives me mad to see the subsidies given to the fossil fuel industry while I have to pay a premium for clean energy.

Sorry, just a rant.
We've a long way to go.

Governments and Corpos poisoned the chalice from the start. Although I didn't follow environmental affairs much until recently, it was obvious to me that Paris was a cop out. Finance is never the answer/tool for us when the problem is fundamentally attempting infinite growth in a finite world. Whilst I knew token so-called 'green' policies had been hamstrung frequently, leading to no real change if not more damage (Jevons), I certainly didn't anticipate that these corrupted efforts wouldn't be seen as such, but rather as an excuse that ANY mitigation is pointless.

How many? I'd guess at least half of people in western civilization think this, not understanding what that means

Got it from the Al Gore university of Arctic will be ice free by 2014.. I can't belive it's now 10 years since the Arctic has been ice free during summers..

so al gore misquoted some scientist 20 years ago and this is the cornerstone of your argument?

Yes.. but infrastructure needs to be put in place before pushing it.

Al Gore said something 20 years ago, so climate change is a myth. We must bring this breakthrough to the global climate research community and tell them to stop what they're doing.

Please, feel free to burn your fossil fuels and pump your carbon freely into the atmosphere and know that it is completely fine

by infrastructure, what do you mean?

Updating electric grids?
Wind turbines, solar arrays?
Updating hydro and decommissioning coal?
Electric trains?
EV charging networks?
Perhaps looking at modern Nuclear, or possibly fusion?

Edit: we probably should have done all this when Al Gore told us to!
