For me the lad starts with a clean slate, don't care about West ham and his time there.
Thought he had a decent WC in 2014 but can't say I have been overly impressed with his time in the PL although, admittedly, he has had a difficult time with injuries.

He wasn't the calibre of player I was looking for as a back up/competition for Rom, but at least he has PL experience which the players we were being linked with don't. Strikers often take a year or more to get accustomed to the pace and competitiveness of our game and many don't adapt at all.

We are also in a transitional stage whilst RK brings in his type of player and ditches the deadwood, which can't be done in one transfer window. So we need to ask the question if he is an improvement over Kone and Niasse. I believe he will be. If the reports are true that we have agreed an option to buy at £14m, then it's not a bad price for a striker if he has a good season. Let's face it, we're not going to attract a top player to be back up to Rom.

I'm going to get behind him and hope he does well.

Was it him at West Ham who kept getting injured and then went and got an outside specialist to treat him on his own? Was in the press that he blamed his inability to recover on their medical staff.

Or am i thinking of someone else?

There was an interview by Toffee TV on deadline day with two West Ham fans about Valencia. Both said he was brilliant when he first arrived but for the last season he'd been horrendous. Said there would be groans in the crowd when he name was read out at the line up. Also said he'd be forced to play as a winger by Bilic which wasn't his proffered position. Valencia said much the same in his interview on Everton.com yesterday. Guess we'll see who's right soon enough. :)

Cheers pal.

I read an article with Koeman regarding Barkleys issues against Sunderland, and Koeman mentions he likes to play with 3 strikers.

I thought that was quite interesting as he must see his attacking players as strikers (Mirallas, Deulofeu, Bolasie, Valencia, Lukaku...)..

I've been so impressed with all of our summer signings that I'm now expecting miracles from Valencia.

That's some testament to our recruitment so far under Koeman and Walsh - and totally unfair on Valencia - but here's hoping he makes it a 100% strike rate.

Im doing my bit, im ripping him to shreds at every chance I get.

Strangely think he will come in and do a job. Similar to the role Koeman had Shane Long playing. Pace and harassing defenders. Just hope he brings his a world Cup 2014 boots rather than West Ham Prem league and we could have another bargain.

Can't say I've really taken note of him....west ham aren't a team i enjoy watching.....but surely a massive upgrade on our friend niasse. Oumars cameo showings will forever stay in my mind and serve to remind me just how shambolic the last half of the season was under martinez.
